But these services include project management, user training, business process analysis/improvement, 4GL program development, printing and Trueform/Neo, as well as general support and system administration.
Paul has over 20 years of experience working with the Pronto ERP system. Of that, 18 years were spent working at the Pronto Software head office, with 8 years in the R&D department as a developer, and the other 10 years as part of the Professional Services Group.
The R&D included writing many custom programs, both large and small, as well as the business analysis and documenting of those new programs and processes. The consulting involved many many implementations and upgrades of the Pronto system, from the workshopping and requirements collecting, through to the implementation, training and go live.
After 18 years, Paul wanted a change in work and life balance, so took the step of being a contractor, and has vastly enjoyed building relationships and getting more hands-on with customers and their requirements, cutting out a lot of the red tape and extra costs associated with a large team.
Having worked as both a developer and consultant, Paul has a great understanding of both the front end user side of Pronto, with configuration and training and knowing what customers need and want from the system. Whilst time spent as a developer, helped to gain a lot of knowledge of how the system works, with the table structures and program logic.
The last 20 years have been spent gaining skills and knowledge in the 4GL development language, so knowing how to write programs that are easy to upgrade and also look and behave similar to the core Pronto programs.
